Mid-West Prairie

If you live in the middle of the U.S. you’re living the story of the 2012 summer drought.  We’ve been told that eventually we’ll all feel some level of higher prices at the grocery stores, but if you live off the land (farming and ranching) you’ve been experiencing pain at a deeper level for a while now.

I painted this scene with rich oil pastels with the hope of brightening prospects of this land in my own small way.  Ref. image was from Carrie Layne Mashon of pmp.
