Here is my latest landscape painting, an oil pastel (11×14) of a country house with a canola field in the foreground. In person the sky is lighter with pastel colors, couldn’t get a decent photograph with my Coolpix – it may be because of the amount of yellows in the piece.
Hopefully bringing a bit of sunshine to your winter days ~
This is a beautiful painting Mary and I can feel the light breezes coming off of the canola fields. Such a serene setting that you have painted so beautifully. Such wonderful soft colors and textures. I bet you never wanted to leave this spot.
How did you know? I loved painting this scene, the canola fields and distant hills keep me lingering to see what showed up as I painted – sometimes you never know what materializes. Your comments are so generous, thank you I loved hearing your perspective on this piece.
Truly my pleasure. I always love your comments as well. 🙂
Another lovely piece. 🙂
Thank you for your wonderful comment Benjamin!
I want to be there right now….living a simple life. I always admire paintings of landscapes, I am to abstract to paint them, the detail is so perfect, and the colors are perfect, very good!
Hi Doris, thank you so much for your wonderful comments. You’re a fantastic artist and I appreciate your assessment!
I like the texture of the Paris green grass in the foreground. It’s like an undulating carpet of sun-bright greenery.
Good morning Ariel’s Prospero – I am so glad that the green appealed to you. The greens were a combination of many colors and layers, working side-by-side w/the yellows it’s a more vibrant field than I’m used to working with. I enjoyed spreading and smearing the fusion of colors.
Please can I book room overlooking the field Mary ???
It did the trick this lovely painting 🙂
Aw Poppy, but of course! I’m so happy that you enjoy the scene, I’ve booked for you the back bedroom over looking the distant hills and flowers. Enjoy your stay!
Oh that sounds perfect 🙂 …. packing now lol
I could easily just climb over the rims of the frame and stroll through the fields up to the house – and open the door. Lovely
Oh my you make me smile!! Such a wonderful comment – I’m glad the painting gave you the feeling of “home.” I can hear all the chatter and laughter as the front door is opened! Have a fantastic weekend!
You too, Mary!
Love it, Mary. Great job! 🙂
Hi Stefano, thank you! I really appreciate your kind comment. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful. I want to live in that house!
Hi Cindy, it’s available – such a wonderful compliment!!! Thank you, it was so nice reading your comment this morning. Mary
Lovely.
Thank you so much for wonderful comment, I really appreciate it!
🙂
Comme tout est beau, chez vous!
Merci!!
Wow that looks so much like the home we lived in when I was really young in Indiana. All you need is a big river on the far left edge of the painting. And we had corn or soy bean, rather than canola, fields. So nice! I love your variety.
Hi Cyndi, no kidding?! I’m so glad the painting reminded you of a place in time, that makes me happy to read that. Thank you for the wonderful comment!!
Yes, thanks for the sunshine Mary-charming.
Hi Elena, thank you very much for your wonderful comment! Wish I could have adjusted the camera to reflect what it looks like in person, ah well. Thanks for your great encouragement.
