To My Followers, are you receiving a notice of my postings in your Reader?

I’m suspecting that I have another issue with my blog Reader and postings.

I’ve posted twice this past week to my blog, with very little response.  I went into my reader to see if my postings were included and noticed my latest two were not in my Reader.

So, if my followers wouldn’t mind – please let me know if you have seen two postings over the past week from me, as well as this one.  One was a book review on Color and Light, and the other was a painting called “Beyond.”

If I don’t receive any comments I’ll know something is up with WordPress – so far I’ve spent countless hours on trying to resolve the issue with no response from the WordPress Staff w/re to any of my postings on the forum – support site.

  1. I didn’t receive any and I am “following” you…

    • Mary says:

Thank you, appreciate your comment. If you un-follow and then follow again, it should clear up the problem. It’s the only solution we’ve been able to come up with.

  2. Hi Mary,
For my part, your post may or may not have been in my reader – I ‘follow’ a significant number of people and it’s easy for anyone’s post to whip through without me seeing it. I know that’s not much help in solving your problem, but I can’t say that you posts haven’t flagged into my reader. Cheers.
    Stephen

    • Doh!
Well that explains why I haven’t – nothing to do with volumes…… sorted on my part now. (mutter mutter mutter).

      • Mary says:

Hi Stephen, thanks! I saw that you are following again – every now and then you might want to unfollow and follow some of the blogs you follow, it seems that WP system has a hickup sometimes and this seems to re-set it.

  3. I was MIA this week as I was traveling.

  4. Petronette says:

    Mary,

    Beyond was in my spam.
I receive emails of your blogging, don’t have a reader.

  5. Hi Mary, I received both as emails. Looks like there’s no hard fast rule.

  6. Hi Mary! I used to get all the postings in my email, but since my last break I changed it. Now, every time I can, which is usually a couple of day during the week and on weekends, I log in and read recent posts or click on the blogs I follow, like yours. By the way, logged in today to get the rose picture. I will try my best to finish is today and post it as soon as possible. 😀

    • Mary says:

Hi Patricia, thanks for responding. I used to have the blogs I followed go to my email box, but found I was getting double notifications and have since canceled the email subscriptions. I follow around 100 blogs, which is a lot of reading and taking me away from painting. I may have to limit how many I follow or something. Can’t wait to see your painting. I have some white roses I’ll be posting.

  7. meiro says:

I didn’t received both, and this one goes to spam.
    Hope tour problem soon solved.

    • Mary says:

Hi Meiro thanks for commenting. Perhaps all my posts are going to your spam. I got this response from a couple of other bloggers as well. I’ll work with WP to have them check this out.

  8. I loved Beyond but didn’t see the book review – found it now!

    • Mary says:

Thanks so much for responding. I too have noticed sometimes I’ll scroll through all the blogs I read – and will go back just a little while later and see many others pop up that weren’t there the first time I scrolled through. Maybe it could be if photographs are too large they may take too long to load, just a thought.

  9. But I have noticed that my reader sometimes only can show less than ten and then stop. Frustrating.

    • Mary says:

I know same here. I do think sometimes this has to do with photographs from bloggers that are too large for the Reader to load – I’ve eliminated some blogs from following because I discovered their photographs are too large and was causing issues with the Reader and it would take many minutes to load, if it did at all.

  10. I saw this post on WordPress Reader! 🙂

  11. I can’t speak to the larger WordPress community, I have have been getting regular notices of your posts.

  12. Healthy A-Z says:

I saw the book review, but not Beyond, And I am really, really glad you mentioned this. I loved, loved, loved Beyond! It was breathtaking! Truly.

  13. I happily received both!
    🙂

I haven’t checked my reader in days as I’ve been out of the country but your set to go straight to my email

    • Mary says:

Hi Benjamin, I know you are having a wonderful time during your travels. We are seeing Europe through your eyes. Thanks for responding, appreciate it!

  15. poppytump says:

Hi Mary I got one but not the other .. I find the reader very strange at times and certainly I do miss other peoples posts sometimes which can be rather disappointing and frustrating I must say …

    • Mary says:

Hi Poppy, thank you for responding. Could you check you spam to be sure that my posts aren’t residing there. Also if you would unfollow my blog and then follow again, it will reload my blog to your Reader. The Reader is real fickle, isn’t it?!

  16. cindy knoke says:

The Reader has a tendency to drop posts, erase likes that have been selected, and drop readers out of the reader after reading a lot of posts. I know because all of this has happened to me many times. I read a lot of blogs. I have seen my likes erased and redone them up to three times (a complete time waster,) blogs I follow frequently do not appear in my reader, and I have been shut out of the reader multiple times, always necessitating, starting over at the beginning where I see many of likes have disappeared.
    Frustrating to say the least.
This posts needs wide dissemination on wordpress.

    • Mary says:

Wow Cindy, your problems are worse than mine – I would have lost patience after the first occurrences. You might have to unfollow your own blog and then follow again, and you may have to do this with those that you follow as well. I’m working with WordPress staff and we think that may have been one of my issues (unfollow/re-follow) and you’ll notice that I posted today about this asking people to comment or like. It’s like solving a puzzle. It took WP staff about 5 days to respond but they’re finally assisting. You might want to get some assistance. Thank you so much for responding, your response really helps.

  17. I don’t think I received the last post, I just saw it now, hope your problem is solved

    • Mary says:

Hi, could you check to see if this post or my post Beyond is sitting in your spam box and let me know. I think my posts have gone into spam for some people. Thanks

      • It has not, I received it in my reader, I would’ve recognized it in my spam and would’ve retrieved it, I just did not receive the post before as I said in my comment.
I hope you won’t have any more problems with it, good luck!

  18. Your posts appear in my newsfeed and no comments go to spam anymore. 🙂 If there are any problems for other readers I hope they’re solved soon! Good luck Mary

  19. oh dear.. this came to my inbox, and the internet connection is too slow to load the reader!!! i noticed yesterday that the reader only loaded about six total and stopped…. several hours later it was working better, and i assumed it was due to my slow connection.

    will try again later!

    • Mary says:

Hi Lisa, thanks for your note. Try unfollow and follow again on some of the blogs you follow. It might help your Reader re-load new posts for your. But then it really could be your internet connection because you received this post. Ah blogs are very fickle, aren’t they?
