No new oil pastel paintings this week, life has a way of creating interruptions that demand attention.
The biggest setback was that my computer finally decided to say goodbye – it’s been on the outs for a while but I’ve avoided buying a new one for as long as possible. So this week saw a good chunk of time researching and then shopping around for a new laptop – oh wow things have definitely changed since I last bought a computer. One will be arriving early next week, but I know I’ll be on a steep learning curve between new system terminology and processes. Hopefully the easy part will be transferring my files to the new computer – if no problems, I’ll be good to go.
Needless to say little was done by way of oil pastels this week, although I have an underpainting completed for a new oil pastel and hope to post the final painting in next couple of days.
Have a great weekend, it’s my b-day today so I’ll be out and about celebrating my new age – LOL!
BTW please enjoy a new visitor (I’ll call, Slow Poke) to our yard this week, and yes he was just as big as he seems in this photograph!!! I had to pick him up and carry him to the pond across the street from us – yikes, he hissed!
The fact that you try to do a painting a week is so impressive. Love your garden visitor. Even if he did hiss at you. Happy Happy Birthday – Belated of course. Love that you are also a Gemini. 🙂
Lol! Emily, so you get it as a fellow-Gemini! Thank you and happy belated birthday to you as well. Still working on the new computer, actually the first one delivered was previously opened – so it was returned. Received the second machine end of last week, so I’m now in the process of getting my software and files transferred, downloaded, and updated. Only need to connect the wireless and I should be good to go. Actually can’t believe the difference w/the colors of my paintings on this new machine – was what I was waiting for. So I’ll have to adjust each j-peg image before posting on new website. We had another turtle this weekend, no matter the year our property is their pathway.
Belated birthday wishes!!! I hope you had a wonderful day! Hugs~
Thank you Calee, you are sweet! Appreciate the kind wishes.
A one-day-late birthday greeting Mary! Hope you had a great day yesterday. Love your “Slow Poke” visitor but be careful transferring the critter if he comes again. 🙂
Thank you so much! We had a smaller sized turtle in the yard again, but he didn’t even have a chance to hiss – he was picked up so fast!
Nothing like a good turtle pic!
Lol, don’t you just love it. Just wait, I have a mother duck and her ducklings having a ball in our pool – photo coming in another post!
Happy Birthday !
Thank you Petronette!

What a great greeting! Thank you so much, loved the link – she’s a favorite of mine. Thanks Z!
Hi Pat! Thank you so much for the greeting – means a lot! We have a pond across the street and one directly behind us so the turtles use our yard as their pathway. You’re right and at the time I was probably just as scared of him as he was of me. So funny, turtles use my gardens as their birthing grounds – it takes them about a day to dig the hole, lay their eggs and then off they go. The stories I could tell you!
Happy Birthday, Mary…..that looks like a snapper, lucky you weren’t bit.
Enjoy the weekend.
