It’s Thursday drawings and here is the latest update on Water Veil #8.
Staying with the goal of drawing for only 1/2 hour, today I concentrated on the right-hand side of the scene and now it’s beginning to take hold and show itself. A portion of the rocks here have water flowing over and around them, so the strokes are straight and even then giving way to a soften approach to indicate areas smooth w/flowing water. This gives way to the interesting aspect of this drawing – there is a lot of water flowing over rocks and spilling out like a veil, can’t wait to get into this aspect of the piece but patience because all the outer edges need to take shape first. Used 4H, 2H, HB, B, 3B graphite.
Enjoy your weekend. I’m working on two 8×10 paintings for my husband as a birthday gift (I’ll be posting next week, tough to keep them a surprise) but they are taking up a good amount of time, oh and refinishing outdoor furniture – so it’s busy around here. Enjoy!
Oh my gosh, you are busy Mary! Thanks for the update. Looking wonderful.
Thanks Elena – just starting #2 painting for B-day, I’m late for sure! This drawing is a lot of fun – I think that it’s leading me.
Great details are starting to show. 😀
Thanks Patricia!
Coming along nicely, Mary. I can’t wait to see it finished!
Have a great weekend! 🙂

Thanks Poppy, it’s getting there. One painting is about 50% done – so I’ve got my work cut out for me if I’m going to get them done by next Friday.
Have a wonderful weekend Mary.
Thank you Timethief – you too as well!
