If you can believe it, Thursday is here and it’s time for a half-hour of drawing!
Today I really wanted to finish this drawing – just had that urge, but resisted and stuck to the plan of only spending 1/2 hour/week. But next week Water Veil will be finished! How about that ~ “thank goodness” you all are probably thinking, lol! The drawing is at a point that some concentrated time needs to be spent drawing at one sitting working on the water spillage and flow, which is the last aspect of the drawing to be completed.
The middle part of the drawing was worked on today and if you think it looks a bit blurry, you’re right and that’s because most of the middle area is either behind or under water. Mostly light graphite was used: 4H, 2H, HB, B and a bit of 2B.
Again I want to thank Craig Johnson, a fabulous photographer with pmp, for his great reference image. It contained all types of elements and complexities that made for a wonderful photograph to draw from. Please enjoy and thanks for having a look . . .
I’m looking forward to seeing the finished result of your long-term discipline. A grand work so far.
Thanks very much Craig and I’m hoping next Thursday is the final unveiling!
This is really coming together beautifully!
Thanks Elena!
It’s almost finished! It looks great. I did remember when you started the drawing.
Hi Nuno, so nice of you and thank you for staying with this drawing project.
It looks fantastic!! Can’t wait to see it finished!!!
Thanks Maria!!
The sense of light through your water veil is wonderful Mary .
Cool, right Poppy? The veil and spillage is finally revealing itself and is nice to anticipate what’s about to come.
Great work, Mary!
Are you glad you will finish it next week?
I really want to do a new painting on class, I wanted to finish it this week, but I also have to do some work next week.
Thank you for your nice comment. Am I glad, yes and no. Yes, because it has been a long time in coming. No, because this drawing spoke to me all the while it was being developed. Great question. Hope you are able to finish your painting!
It really has been so good watching this unfold over the weeks, Mary
Thanks Don, really appreciate that you had the patience to stay with me on this. It’s been an interesting subject to work out on paper.
Dear Mary, the extent of dedication, discipline and attention to detail that is involved in your drawings is nothing short of astounding! Can’t wait to see the finished product! 🙂
Thanks Stefano and this week the drawing gave to me what I’ve been waiting for all these weeks, the path of finding my way home with this piece. Thank you for sticking with this drawing project.
I love it when I see your flower icon come up and I know there is something special from Mary.. and i can decorate it with my words… moving forward according to army plan. Have a good weekend.
Thanks Doron and you make me laugh! So funny, the army plan – lol.
I love your time management and the way that you have a conversation with yourself…. don’t pass the gong of half hour.. I wish I had that discipline. I start a drawing or painting I need to see it finish.. It is great having you around to teach me different. Keep laughing it is good for you. 🙂
