I had to give up on working any further on Majesty of Grace – with every minute it got darker and darker out. So next week I’ll set aside time in the morning to finish the drawing up, there is a lot of refining to do.
Majesty of Grace (6×9) is drawn on Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper, using graphite pencils (4H, 2H, HB, and 3B) and blending with a stump and tortilium. Sorry the photograph isn’t more clear, it was much too dark to take a picture but didn’t want to miss my Thursday drawing obligation.

I have been down by the ocean today; it looked like this in places. Waves are so captivating.
Thanks Gallivanta – there is something so mesmerizing about the ocean roaring into shore. I love the power, beauty and grace of it being untamed and yet organized.

It’s coming into his own so nicely, love the energy, power and the strength of the wave! Hardly can wait to see the finished scene with the sun picking through the waves!
Thanks Eva – now the real work begins, stepping back and seeing what reveals itself. I was telling Cynthia below, that I didn’t even realize how dark it got outside while I was drawing (too focused, I’d say) so there are several areas now that are screaming at me to pay attention and go back in and fix it.
